Communications & Advocacy Lead

Open Arms is looking for a Communications Lead who is inspired by Open Arms’ mission and passionate about birth justice and the important need to address racial and economic health disparities surrounding maternal and infant health. We are looking for someone who can bring together strategic communications with compelling storytelling to inspire a wide range of audiences. The ideal candidate has a well-developed equity lens, is an exceptionally skilled writer who brings creativity and vision to their work, and is highly organized for daily task management. The Communications Lead will be responsible for generating, reviewing, and editing external communications, and they will oversee a Communications Coordinator on daily tasks. They will work closely with the Managing Director and Development Director to develop and execute strategic communications.

Office Coordinator

Location: Seattle, WA

Open Arms is looking for an Office Coordinator who enjoys greeting and interacting with others and is passionate about upkeeping a facility that is welcoming and safe for our staff, client families, and visitors. Flexibility and multitasking are extremely important for this role that is central to a busy work environment. The Office Coordinator will need to be in the office Monday through Fridays with a consistent schedule during 9am – 5pm. They will join the Operations team to provide daily direct support to the Operations Lead, Operations Administrator, and Managing Director. They will regularly interface with staff, contractors, volunteers, and clients across the organization. For this reason, the Office Coordinator needs to be fluent in Spanish and English to be effective in supporting our teams and visitors. Strong proficiency with technology and cloud-based systems is required to support our highly mobile team and our hybrid work environment.

Intake Coordinator & Family Connector

Location: Seattle, WA

Open Arms is seeking someone with strong interpersonal skills who is comfortable interacting with families and can easily navigate change and shifting priorities. This hybrid role conducts intake interviews with families seeking services and supports them with resource navigation. Combing these roles helps scale our Family Connector team and provides coverage for the Intake team. This position is a great fit for someone who is comfortable working virtually and in person, thrives in a busy environment, is exceptionally organized and detail oriented, and is a compassionate person who enjoys working with pregnant and parenting families by connecting them with essential and culturally relevant resources.

Open Arms hires certified and trained birth doulas and contracts a core team who manage either a full- or part-time client caseload. If you are interested in becoming a doula with us, the first step is to complete a birth doula training program such as Shafia Monroe Consulting (SMC) Full Circle Doula Training or the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Professions.
