Job Openings & Training Opportunities
Board Member
Members of the Open Arms Board of Directors believe in and are willing to support the mission of Open Arms, advocate and promote the organization to their personal network and others, and engage meaningfully in board meetings, organizational events, and fundraising opportunities. We seek new members who want to support under-served pregnant and parenting people and their families primarily in Seattle, King County, and increasingly in Pierce and Snohomish Counties. We encourage the application of candidates from any background who possess valuable skills to contribute to our board.
If you are interested, please contact BoDrecruitment@openarmsps.org to arrange a time to have an initial conversation with a current board member.
How to Become an Open Arms Doula
Open Arms hires certified and trained birth doulas and contracts a core team who manage either a full- or part-time client caseload. If you are interested in becoming a doula with us, the first step is to complete a birth doula training program such as Shafia Monroe Consulting (SMC) Full Circle Doula Training or the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Professions. For more details about being an Open Arms Doula, please watch this informational hiring session.
Community Doula List
As spots open up on the Doula Services team, we consult our Community Doula List to fill the space. We refer people to this list when they do not qualify for our services or when our caseload is full.
