Give Light: Stories from Indigenous Midwives

The Midwives’ Association of Washington State is hosting a special film screening! We are hoping to boost community engagement and host a space to celebrate Indigenous midwifery. This film is aimed to connect with and learn from the Indigenous midwifery community, and spark a conversation about how to honor traditional birthing practices in the modern world. Join us for this one-night event and stay for a discussion after the film, with the filmmaker – Steph Smith. Donations of any amount are appreciated and will go to support the filmmaker and MAWS! To learn more about the film, please visit http://www.givelight.info/

MAWS is looking for organizations that are committed to supporting the profession of midwifery and birthing justice, through education and advocacy. Email executivedirector@washingtonmidwives.org to learn more about how you can be a co-sponsor and support our community! We are also looking for panelists for a post-film discussion panel, so if you or someone you know is interested, please email executivedirector@washingtonmidwives.org!
